Cabinets

We have cabinets. Check out the pictures.

They are making lots of progress. We bought a sink for the kitchen because Natalie doesn't like double sinks and they won't do a single sink unless we buy it. So we did.

We also got a garage door opener. We'll wait to install it.

Post Tape

Hi Again!

After a very boring taping week, we have a few more blurry pictures. The house is coming along nicely. The sheetrock is in, the yard has been graded (we hope they put more fill in the back), some tile is in, the wood floor is in, most walls are painted, cabinets are started (we don't have cabinet pictures yet), and the basement has been insulated. See Pictures.

An upstairs bedroom, and the kitchen.

The town inspector made the plumber fix his use of duct tape as fasteners for Pex pipe in the upstairs bathroom, so that is good.

I'm having BLANKIES for dinner!

A few days ago

Well, if you look back, this house was started a month ago. Pictures. It's amazing the progress they have made so far. Friday they told us if we had to, we could close in 3 weeks. It would be nicer for them if it were 5-6 weeks, which is fine with us. So we're looking at 14 June or 21 June.

You'll notice these pictures are actually a few days ago. All the sheetrock is up, so they're going to be taping all week, which means it won't look like any progress has been made for about a week. So we have some spaced out pictures with progress being made. On Monday I'll post the link to the newest set of pictures we have, and mid week we'll get some taping progress pictures (and they're rough grading the yard too), so we'll have something, just don't expect massive changes like it did when the framing went up so fast.

All the siding is done too, but those pictures are for Monday.

New Porch Poured

Not that you can see it in the pictures, but they put up insulation inside the house. They also finished a lot of siding.

Plus, they ripped out the old, angled, settled, cracked porch, and poured a new one. :-)

That's great news for us.

Dar Intarweb

Got dar intarweb? We do. Well, at least Cat5e running to most of the rooms. It was a lot of work, as it's a much bigger house than in Marlborough, but it was worth it. And it was TONS easier without sheetrock in the way.

Take a look at the pictures.

They're going to rip out the front porch and re-pour it this week, due to the settling crack.

It was REALLY tough to keep Calvin off the ladder. Plus, he fell down one of the vent holes (that lead to the basement) and couldn't get out. Only one leg went down, but it was scary. He loves just running all around the house. Now that there is Romex and plumbing up, he can't run between all the studs anymore and has to pick his path more carefully. It's fun to watch him, even if it is nerve-wracking (open stairs, long drop, vent holes, sharp nails, insulation, you name it). He won't stop running though. He just loves it. So I anticipate him loving the house. It was pretty cool to watch him learn to step over the 2x4's on the ground rather than trip on them. He's got it down to the point that it's no longer an issue, he just lifts his foot up higher and he's over it. He learned it pretty fast too. He reminds me a lot of Danny when we were building our house and Danny was Calvin's age.

Siding Started, Shingles On

More and more progress every day. The shingles are on, the flashing up, and siding is complete for about 4/10 of the house.

Current Pictures

Note the crack on the porch. They're going to fix it.

Ethernet tomorrow. We're very excited. :-)
